Nepal Tips – living for £250 a month in Pokhora!
Is it possible to live for less than £250 a month?
Adventure captured the true essence of what’s truly important and places things in to a realtime space.
On a trip to pokhara a few years ago I was pleasantly surprised. The town which straddles the Phewa lake and watched over by the Annapurna range attracts a somewhat hippy vibe. Life is simple and has a small commercial strapping to the place. You can purchase trekking gear, book your next adventurer or partake in a spot of Yoga and meditation to really let it go.
I did a little research using Airbnb of what the cheapest way you could live there for a month? Month?
Now, all of the trips through mountains in mind offer something special when it comes to pre and post expedition hotels, but just for a minute picture this!
Quiting the rat race and living a simple life!
I read a book a few years ago by Robin Sharma called ‘ The monk who sold his Ferrari’ a very thought provoking story. Might be worth a read if the stresses of 1st world living is getting to much! Puts things into perspective.
Ok, pokhara!
We’ve found a place called the ‘mystique highland resort’ offering rooms , with breakfast for £4 ($6) a night!!!
Or the more expensive Xxx at £13 ( $19) per night!!
Flights..
Getting there is the expensive part, use something like ‘Flight Scanner’ to search for some of the cheapest flights around.
Fly from the UK from as little as £325, return.
From LA $657 and New York $712
Perth A$521 and Sydney A$767.
So the accommodation for a month would cost as little as £124 ($180). Food is cheap as chips with a 3 course meal costing from around £4 ($6).
